This memorial photo roster page shows most of the DSP&P equipment that ran on
"My
South Park Line" in the garden at my ranch home near Rocky Mountain House, Alberta from 2002 to 2017.

DSP&P 1:22.6 SCale 16'
WayCARS
There
were no commercially produced models in 1:22 or 1:24 scale that
accurately represented the DSP&P waycars. Most available DSP&P
models were generic bobber cabooses with the cupola removed. As a
result, the windows on all these models are too close to the ends of
the car. But I love DSP&P waycars, so I ran them anyway - visitors
didn't know the difference.

Of all my kitbashing /
customizing projects, open loads on flat cars are my favourites -
each is unique, colourful, and fun to build. All cars have plastic
bodies, knuckle couplers, and metal wheels.

DSP&P 1:22.6 SCale 26' &
27' Box, Cattle, and Refrigerator CARS
All cars have plastic bodies,
knuckle couplers, and metal wheels. The original models had simulated-metal Murphy
roofs. Since this roof did not
appear until the early 1900s, I replaced the metal roof with a
simulated-wood roof from Bachmann to better represent the 1880s era.
All "metal" car parts were detailed in black, as they were on the
real cars.

Some of these
cars were commercially available with DSP&P lettering but most
represent car styles, logos, paint schemes, or road numbers that
never ran on the DSP&P. Others were custom lettered by eBay vendors,
with the same issues as noted above. All were fitted with simulated
wood roof, where appropriate, and metal wheels and knuckle couplers.
All have been donated or sold from my collection.

Customized Passenger Cars
I bought these cars from
an eBay vendor who had done a wonderful job customizing three
Bachmann kits into reasonable representations of DSP&P combine #4
"Hall's Valley", DSP&P coach #5 "Leadville", and sleeper "South
Park". I added the LGB single-door baggage car to the set as it is a
good approximation of DSP&P #42. These four cars were donated to
DSPPHS - see them on display at the Como Roundhouse, Como CO.

LGB Passenger Cars
The silver roofs were
painted black, which improved their appearance greatly I
renumbered these cars to give them reasonable DSP&P numbers. This
was not one of my most successful projects, as the paint on the car
sides was damaged where the old LGB numbers were removed.
One combine and three
passenger cars were donated to Breckenridge Historical Alliance. The
balance went to RMGRS, Calgary.
